Never Leave Us

I am a worshiper at heart.

"The most common word for "worship" literally means "bend over" or "bow down". It describes a gesture of respect or submission to human beings, to God, or to idols (e.g., Genesis 18:2, Exodus 20:4-6). Combined with other gesture-words, this term came to be used for the attitude of homage that the gesture represented."

John 4:23-24 MSG

“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”

John 16:13 TPT

But when the truth-giving Spirit comes, he will unveil the reality of every truth within you. He won't speak on his own, but only what he hears from the Father, and he will reveal prophetically to you what is to come.

Mark 12:28-31 NKJV

Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?”

Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Prayer, praise and worship are all ways we bow down to God. The reality of our human existence is that WE NEED GOD! We are image bearers of the unseen God; we are the image of the Creator of all creation. To worship God is to communicate to Him - that in Him, we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28). It is acknowledgement of His omnipresence; acknowledgement that wherever we go, His Spirit is there - and in honor of who He is, we bow down before Him. As we worship God, He will reveal truth to us; truth about who we are and who we are not! Truth about what is real and what is not!

It is important for us to remember that God is ONE! This is why we must love God with ALL our heart, ALL our soul, ALL our mind, and with ALL our strength. Worship is how we give God our ALL! Worship is how we love God!

To the heart that is bowed down before the Lord, He is saying, "....I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for (Jeremiah 29:10-11 MSG)."
